Really appreciate your vulnerability here, Dickie. What you’re walking through now is something that I’m experiencing myself. A return to the fundamentals is always the answer. Thank you for reminding me of that this morning.
This is the kind of article that I needed right now. That everyone struggles at times, that it's sometimes very easy to slip back into unwanted behaviors, and that the process of getting back on track is not easy. In the end it's easy and comforting to blame some externalities, or to blame it on a label. But it won't get you any step further. Accepting the ownership and responsibilities that come with them is what get's you (me) on the path to getting better (again).
The resonance here confirms to me I’m in a rut and really fighting to get out of it at the moment. It might actually be an 18 month long one thinking back.
I really appreciate the way you broke all of this down! I like the way that you use your own personal experiences as data. I don't feel like I am in a rut right now, but this is a great reminder to keep tracking the things that I am doing that are working (and to not slack off on them or to take them for granted). I also appreciate the recommendation to schedule stressful activities around your recovery activities. That's something I am not as good about as I should be.
Thanks for sharing this in such detail and with so much honesty, @Dickie!
There’s a lot to learn from your experience, especially about navigating difficult periods while staying committed to progress. One thing that stood out to me was how you reframed your perspective through journalling and intentional reflection.
Great post ! Keen to know more about the metrics you were asked to submit prior to the session, not the actual numbers themselves but the kinds of things you sent data on, for example number of metrics sent, and what kinds of things its good to track. Thanks !

Awesome read thanks Dickie. Sorry for your loss.
I was in a similar position 5 months ago. Things have changed. Looking forward to your changes too.
