The list is phenomenal - thank you Dickie. I have read 5 of the 10 on your list and just got the other 5 to read, and then re-read a couple of the other 5. Ongoing growth is a journey, and books are the waypoints on a map to help you get there.

Great list Dickie. I'm glad you provided context around when you found the books and what they did for you.

Too many put together lists like this and just leave it at that. I can tell you not only read them, but you internalized their lessons and, more importantly, took action.

I read Meditations around the same time you did. I also did the deep dive into Stoicism. It has now become a guiding philosophy for my daily life.

Thanks for the share man!

Thanks for sharing this list, Dickie (and love that you're writing here!). There are a few here I haven't read.

'The War of Art' was pivotal for me too. 'Turning Pro' is also good.

I use both of them in my daily reading practice - so I keep the idea of Resistance front and centre (because it's such a tricky, slippery thing!)

I'm excited to read more from you about applying bottlenecks in personal development (alongside the business angle too!)

Love this list! Two book reccos for you:

If you haven't read it yet, "A Guide to the Good Life" by William Irvine is a great deep dive into stoicism, and, well...a guide to living a 'good' life :-) Based on what you've shared here thought you may appreciate it. https://www.amazon.com/Guide-Good-Life-Ancient-Stoic/dp/1522632735

My most recent audiobook listen was Endurance by Alfred Lansing, I never would have read it, had it not been selected in a book club but turned out to be one of my favorite reads to date. Here is the blurb:

"In August 1914, polar explorer Ernest Shackleton boarded the Endurance and set sail for Antarctica, where he planned to cross the last uncharted continent on foot. In January 1915, after battling its way through a thousand miles of pack ice and only a day's sail short of its destination, the Endurance became locked in an island of ice. Thus began the legendary ordeal of Shackleton and his crew of twenty-seven men. When their ship was finally crushed between two ice floes, they attempted a near-impossible journey over 850 miles of the South Atlantic's heaviest seas to the closest outpost of civilization."
