❓ 22 Questions To Have Great Answers To (and My Answers To Them)
This week someone asked me to be on their podcast. It would be the first time someone interviewed me, so I started to think about what they might ask.
I brainstormed 22 questions that are commonly asked to podcast guests and thought about my answers to them. But instead of just thinking about the answers, I decided to write them up for myself.
If you've never written up your thoughts and responses to questions like this, I highly recommend it. It will give you some insights into yourself and your views of the world that you have likely never put into words. Plus, it’s kind of fun! You can check out my answers here.
☕️ The Founder’s Journal from Morning Brew CEO Alex Lieberman
Few podcasts could be a standalone MBA course. The Founder's Journal from Morning Brew CEO Alex Lieberman is one of those few. In 10-minute episodes, Alex breaks down his most important insights of the day. I found the episodes so useful that I synthesized them into 40 lessons and created a public notes page for the whole series, which you can check out here. I also turned it into a tweet thread which you can check out here!
Some of the lessons include insights into Morning Brew’s culture, vision, and values, some tips on managing yourself, productivity tactics, and practical advice on building, scaling, hiring, and marketing.
💼 The Implications of Working Without an Office
I’ve talked about a few ideas I have about how COVID will change the way we work in the future. Four months into working-from-home, the Harvard Business Review released some preliminary findings on people’s attitudes towards WFH, changes in productivity, and what could change going forward.
The takeaways? Mixed. Most people have adapted relatively quickly and are starting to really like it. There has been little productivity drop-off overall and people like the more flexible schedule. However, colleagues are becoming less empathetic, workdays are getting longer, and there is discomfort about the return to the office. Businesses will need to walk a fine line in bringing employees back to work.

Another week, another new playlist that’s been keeping me locked in. I reserve this one for the deepest work sessions so I don’t get too used to it. Each track is a roughly 30-minute ambient melody that is sure to keep you focused.
🎧 This Week in Podcasts
This week I listened and took notes on two podcasts, turning each of them into their own tweet thread.
The first was this week’s edition of Business Casual, Morning Brew’s flagship podcast. The guest was Connie Chan, partner at a16z focusing on consumer technology. Kinsey and Connie talked about social commerce, super apps, and the future of Instagram vs. TikTok. I love thinking about the future of consumer technology, so this was right up my alley.
The second was this week’s edition of the Prof G. Show with Scott Galloway. Prof. G talked $NFLX’s earnings, Peacock TV’s launch, interviewed Andy Slavitt, one of the leading voices on COVID, and then dug into some listener questions. Another fire episode.
